| Mr.
V.B. Madhusudhanan was born in Chennai as a son to Mr.
Velpure Bhaskara Dasan and Mrs. Shenbagavalli.
He
started learning to play on the Mirudangam at the early
age of 7, under the guidance of Mr. Hariharasharma the
founder of "Jaya Ganesha Thala Vidyalaya"
father of Mr. T.H. Vinayagaram the famous Gadam Vidhwan.
Mr.
Madhu had participated on many stages as a Mirudangist
at that tender age. When he was 12 years old he played
the Mirudangam in the presence of the Honourable Governor
Mr. K.K. Shah and was selected as the first student.
At a very young age he participated in many carnatic,
devotional and even cine programs.
He
learnt to play the Bango a foreign instrument from Navarags
Sridhar. More over he started participating in stage
programs playing as many instruments, as he could, for
light music programs. Later on he learnt to play the
Tabla under the guidance of Mr. A. Lakshmanrao and later
under the guidance of Ustad Mr. Ahmed Hussain Khan (Sitar).
In
1981 he joined the Govt. Music college Chennai, and
underwent a training of 3yrs for the title of Vadyavisharadha
and came out with flying colours as a first class student.
He was awarded by the hands of Dr. M.G. Ramachandran
the then Chief Minister of Tamilnadu in 1983.
To
follow this he learnt Mirudangam to improve himself
more, from the India's most eminent personality Guruji
Thiru. Karaikudi Mani (Mirudanga Vidhwan) and he has
played in his "Shruthilaya" Group on many
stages around India and also abroad, with the blessings
of his Guru. He is a B. High Grade Artist in the All
India Radio, for Mirudangam, Tabla, and Dolki.
